Reddit Inc. will replace AvalonBay Communities Inc. (AVB) in the S&P 500 effective prior to the opening of trading on Tuesday, August 18.
Reddit will replace AvalonBay Communities before the opening of trading on Tuesday, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices, which oversees the index. The change was prompted by Equity Residential’s coming acquisition of AvalonBay, a large owner of multifamily housing.
